BLAZING SADDLES

50th Anniversary presentation:
Blazing Saddles (M)

“My name is Jim, but most people call me…Jim”.

Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Slim Pickens, Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn and more join for horseplay and horselaughs, making Blazing Saddles the #6 choice among the American Film Institute’s Top-100 Comedies.

This classic Western satire is in its’ 50th year, so it’s time to bring it back to the BIG screen!

Mel Brooks’ Jewish heritage, small stature and service during WWII informed his body of work which satirised extremists, racists and bullies. In his autobiography, he discussed how the issue of “racial prejudice” drives Blazing Saddles as a comedy and social commentary.  The script was co-written by legendary African American comedian Richard Pryor, who, along with lead Cleavon Little, defended the use of the “N” word to pack a punch and tackle the issue of racism head on.   It remains one of the most popular westerns and comedies of all time.
