“Beware of the Dwarf” whispers the hitchhiker to the beautiful librarian (Goldie Hawn) as he dies midway through a screening of This Gun is Mine. Suddenly Hawn is propelled into a world of wild chases, bizarre attempts on her life, and deadly encounters with an assortment of weird underworld characters.
Academy Award winner Hawn teams up with Chevy Chase (in his first starring motion picture assignment) – and with hilarious results. Chase plays the handsome San Francisco detective who becomes personally and professionally involved with all the odd things to happening to Hawn.
Co-starring a pre- Arthur Dudley Moore in one of his most delightful comic turns.
Foul Play is one of our very favourite films, so we’re especially excited to bring this back to the big screen – and on a brand new 35mm film print. It was the first movie Tors’ owner Steve Snell ever saw at the drive-in, so we just had to have it on film. Paramount Pictures in the US and AU granted us special permission to have a new print struck by the clever people at CPC London.
It’s also just one of the best 70s films made for the big screen. Action, suspense, laugh out loud humour and wonderful characters make this tribute to Hitchcock thoroughly entertaining and what going to the movies should be all about.

Foul Play (screening first) is very much a homage to the films of Alfred Hitchcock, so what better to support it with than this glorious, cinematic classic.
Notorious cat burglar John Robie (Cary Grant) has long since retired to tend vineyards on the French Riviera. When a series of robberies is committed in his style, John must clear his name. Armed with a list of people who own the most expensive jewels currently in the area, John begins following the first owner, young Francie (Grace Kelly). When her jewels are stolen, Francie suspects John, destroying their tentative romance. John goes on the lam to catch the thief and clear his own name.
A Hitchcock classic and mix of drama, suspense and humour, this is a must see on the big screen that oozes classic Hollywood glamour. It was also while shooting this film that Grace Kelly first met Prince Rainier of Monaco. The following year she left acting and became Princess Grace of Monaco.
In this amazing, fact-based tale, a group of Green Berets in Vietnam undertake a daunting mission–transporting an 8,000 pound elephant to a friendly village. By sea, land and air, these dedicated soldiers prove their good will, ultimately sending the precocious pachyderm on a parachute drop to its destination.
