The Tors Drive-In in Charters Towers is a locally owned and operated cinema.  It’s been screening movies under the stars and entertaining generations since 1966.

We are the only local cinema to screen the latest movies in 4K Digital, and one of the few drive-in cinemas in the world to regularly show movies on 16mm and 35mm film.

We serve a variety of hot, tasty meals and yummy snacks and drinks at unbelievable prices.

Most of our ticket sales go back to the studios. Therefore we rely on cafe sales to remain open, so no outside food please!

From September until Autumn next year we’ll be opening at 6:30 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. movie start.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks (G)

When a mail-order apprentice witch (Angela Lansbury) is saddled with three sibling refugees from London during World War II, the outlook is grim. But the kids soon discover her secret and sign on for adventure in the name of England.

With the aid of a magical bed, they track down her fraudulent headmaster (David Tomlinson) to find the spell that will aid the Allies. Fascinated that she has actually achieved results with his lessons, he joins forces. The quintet does battle with corrupt booksellers, animated-lion royalty, and, eventually, invading Germans.

After they’re accidentally conjured up by some unsuspecting pranksters, the tricky 300-year old trio sets out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth – but first they must outwit three feisty kids who are determined to foil their scheme.

Loaded with bewitching laughs, Hocus Pocus is an outrageous comedy that’s sure to entertain everyone!

Having defeated The Joker, Batman now faces The Penguin a warped and deformed individual intent on being accepted into Gotham society. The plot is further complicated by Selina Kyle, a wronged secretary who transforms into the slinky, mysterious Catwoman.

Michael Keaton reprises his role as Batman; Danny DeVito stars as The Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer is the face of Catwoman in this second instalment of Warner Bros. Batman series directed by Tim Burton.
